Hello

Thank you for visiting my campaign site. I am Curtis Campogni, a father, a husband, and a lifelong Pinellas County resident who believes in the power of strong public schools to shape our community’s future.

This page is where you can learn more about who I am, why I decided to run for the Pinellas County School Board, and what I hope to accomplish for every child, every parent, every teacher, and every neighborhood in our county.

Whether you are a parent looking for answers, a teacher hoping for more support, a student striving to succeed, or a neighbor who simply cares about the future of Pinellas County, you are in the right place.

The Heart

On August 11, I turned 41. That same morning was the first day of kindergarten for our little girl and pre-K for our little boy.

I was amazed watching the teachers, parents, and staff work together to create a memory that will shape our children for years to come.

As I left the school that morning, I knew what I had to do.

I drove straight to the Vote Pinellas office and submitted the paperwork to run for the Pinellas County School Board.

This campaign began as a personal commitment to give back to the county that raised me and to honor the families and educators who make moments like that possible.

The Experience

I am the son of a teacher, the husband of a social worker, and the father of two adopted children enrolled in our local public schools.

Born and raised in Clearwater, I began my career working in a group home in St. Petersburg, later ran youth programs in Palm Harbor, and coached girls high school flag football in East Lake.

I served as a case manager across the entire county and eventually led a youth transition program that supported young people across Central Florida.

Today, I am the founder of Speak4MC, which trains professionals nationwide in empathy-based communication, leadership, and motivational interviewing.

I also serve as Vice Chair of the Circuit 6 Juvenile Justice Advisory Board and as the Florida State Representative for the Southeastern Employment & Training Association (SETA), advocating for workforce development and stronger partnerships for young people and families.

These experiences give me both the local roots and the professional credibility to represent all of Pinellas County.

The Vision

Pinellas County is strongest when every city, neighborhood, and school is thriving. That requires leadership that understands the whole county and can bring people together across lines that often divide us.

As someone who has lived, worked, and served in communities across Pinellas, I have seen what connects us and what holds us back. I know that the success of our public schools is tied to the strength of every neighborhood and to the trust families have in the system.

This is an at-large seat, which means the person who holds it must represent the interests of the entire county, not just one district. My personal and professional experiences give me the credibility to do that. I will work to make our schools both physically and emotionally safe, to tell a stronger story about the value of public education, to prepare students with strategic empathy and critical thinking, to improve teacher morale and recruitment, and to foster real collaboration between schools, families, and community partners.

A strong Pinellas County depends on strong public schools in every community, and that is the future I am committed to building.
